UTrucking is WashU's go-to for student storage, shipping, moving, and appliance rentals. A student-founded company based in St. Louis, we have proudly served WashU students and the University since 1977. We handle everything door to door so you do not have to.

Our most popular WashU services include Summer Storage, Home Shipping, Storage Item Return, Appliance Rental, Tri-State Area Home Pickups, and Ship to School (Nationwide Trip to School). We also offer Local Moving Support for WashU and greater St. Louis residents.

We deliver packing supplies, pick up directly from your dorm or apartment, and store, ship, or move your items. Everything is door to door.

Congratulations! UTrucking is WashU's preferred vendor for student storage, shipping, and appliance rentals. Most families start with Summer Storage, which includes pickup at move-out and delivery back in the fall. We also offer appliance rentals (mini fridge and microwave) delivered to your dorm before move-in, and shipping services for getting items to and from campus.

If you are in WashU housing, no. Our Late Access partnership with WashU allows for pickup and delivery without you being present. For off-campus housing, someone is typically required to be present or arrangements must be made in advance.

Yes. We service both on-campus and off-campus housing and can deliver or pick up from any apartment or home in St. Louis. You do not need to live in WashU housing to use our services.
How does Late Access work for WashU housing?

Through our partnership with WashU, you can leave your packed and labeled items in your locked room at move-out. Our team will access your room after you leave, pick up your items, and store them safely. At move-in, we deliver everything back to your room before you arrive so it is ready when you get there.

Your UTrucking kit (boxes, tape, bubble wrap) is delivered at least five days before your scheduled pickup date or move-out date.

Each item should be clearly labeled with your name, the service (Storage or Shipping), and item count (e.g., 1 of 6, 2 of 6). Make sure to label and include unboxed items in the count. This helps ensure everything stays organized and returned correctly.

Yes. Many students choose to store some items for the summer and ship others home. Sign up for both services and we will pick everything up at the same time. Please label items clearly, separated by service (storage vs. shipping).

The $49 registration fee secures your pickup slot and includes delivery of your UTrucking kit (5 boxes, tape, and bubble wrap). After pickup, items are invoiced based on what you actually store. Summer Storage is billed as a fixed 4-month term.

All Summer Storage orders include delivery of a UTrucking kit (5 boxes, tape, and bubble wrap) to your dorm room or apartment. Kits are delivered at least five days in advance of your move-out date. Summer Storage is priced per item based on our pricing table, not per order. You can use the pricing calculator on the Summer Storage product page to get a quick estimate, or call us and tell us what you are storing and we will get you an estimate.
Why is Summer Storage billed as a fixed 4-month term?
Why is Summer Storage billed as a fixed 4-month term?
The 4-month term includes pickup and delivery anywhere in St. Louis (no extra trip fees) and $100 of insurance for boxed and bagged items. Even if you want delivery earlier in the summer, the storage term stays fixed while we accommodate your items in our facility. We do not charge extra for early delivery.

You only pay for the number of boxes you actually store. If you have extra unused boxes, leave them with your labeled items at pickup and our team will take them back.

Yes. If you purchased extra kits that are unopened and unused, we can issue a $30 refund per kit upon request. Just let us know how many kits you will not be using. Refunds are processed via Venmo or check.

Select your actual move-out date when registering. If you are in WashU on-campus housing, you do not need to be present. We coordinate with the university for late access. If you are not in university housing, we ask that you be there or let us know how to access your items.

Yes. You can change your scheduled date, time, and location for free at any time by filling out the contact form or calling (314) 266-8878.

Can I store items that do not fit in a box?
Yes. You can store large or loose items like furniture, lamps, or rugs. There are no size or quantity limits for storage. For shipping, items must be boxed or bagged due to carrier requirements.

Yes. Place everything together at pickup and put a label on each unboxed item so it is tagged and tracked correctly. Your kit includes sticker labels for loose items like luggage.
Can you store fragile items like a guitar safely?
Can you store fragile items like a guitar safely?
Yes. Fragile items are stored in protected areas and we will not stack anything on top of them. While we are committed to keeping your items safe, please pack them with bubble wrap (provided in your kit) and additional padding if needed. You can also add extra insurance during registration. Let us know if you have special handling requests and we will note it on your order.

We offer flexible delivery throughout the summer and school year. Just reach out to schedule an earlier return and we will coordinate a time that works. Note that Summer Storage is billed as a fixed 4-month term regardless of when you take delivery. We do not charge extra for early delivery.

Yes. When you schedule your return delivery, provide any St. Louis address, dorm or off-campus, and we will deliver everything there.

With our Home Shipping service, we deliver a kit with boxes, tape, and packing materials. You pack everything, then we pick it up and ship it to your home address via UPS.

Home Shipping is a $95 flat rate per box. You only pay for what you ship. Surcharges of $25 or more may apply for overweight items (70+ lbs), oversized items, or unboxed/unbagged items where we need to supply or build a box.

Packages 50 to 70 lbs may incur a UPS surcharge. Packages over 70 lbs incur a significant UPS large package surcharge. We will contact you in advance if an item is overweight, and we can offer to repack it into an additional box at no extra labor cost. You would only pay for the additional box.

Tracking is emailed to you after pickup and shipment so you can follow your package to its destination. If you share your order number, we can confirm the email address on file.

Yes, we can pick up leftover supplies along with your items. Only unopened kits are eligible for a refund.

We offer Double-Door Mini Fridge, Standard Mini Fridge, Microwave, and combo packages. All appliances are WashU-approved, professionally cleaned, inspected, and tested before delivery.

Rental prices are available for the full academic year (August through May) or by semester (Fall or Spring). We also offer summer rentals (May through August). We do not accommodate refunds for early returns.

Appliances are delivered directly to your dorm room or apartment before move-in, so they are ready when you arrive.

We pick up your appliances directly from your room at the end of the spring semester. Just leave the appliance in your room and we will handle the rest.

All appliances are backed by our Quality Guarantee. Every appliance is professionally cleaned, inspected, and tested. If any issues come up during your rental period, we will repair or replace the unit at no additional cost. Contact us with your building and room number and we will arrange a replacement.

Once we have checked in your appliance, we will process the deposit refund. Let us know whether you prefer Venmo or a check. If Venmo, share your handle. If a check, confirm your mailing address.

Yes. If you rent any fridge for a year-long rental, the $49 Ship to School registration fee is automatically waived. Simply add both to your cart and the discount will apply automatically at checkout.

Ship to School (also called Nationwide Trip to School) allows students anywhere in the country to ship their belongings to their WashU dorm. We send boxes and supplies to your home, you pack and drop off at UPS or schedule a home pickup, and your items arrive in your WashU dorm room.

This service is ideal for incoming freshmen and current students who live outside the St. Louis area and want their items delivered to campus before or at move-in.

Registration is $49 and includes your UTrucking kit. Shipping is priced per box based on weight and destination. If you rent any fridge from UTrucking, your Ship to School registration fee is waived automatically at checkout.

This service allows students in the greater tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and surrounding regions) to have their items picked up directly from their home and delivered to their WashU dorm room.

Yes. Tri-State Area Home Pickups has limited capacity and historically sells out. We recommend signing up early.

Storage Item Return is the move-in service for students whose items are already stored with UTrucking. We deliver your items directly to your new dorm room or apartment before you arrive.

What is Local Moving Support?
Local Moving Support is UTrucking's general moving service for WashU students, alumni, faculty, and greater St. Louis residents. We handle apartment moves, office moves, and any local moving needs.
How is Local Moving Support priced?
How is Local Moving Support priced?
There is a $195 activation fee which includes the first two crew hours (for example, two movers for one hour, or one mover for two hours). Additional crew hours are $72 per hour. A box truck, if needed, is an additional $20 per hour on top of the crew rate.

We can handle items that need to be disassembled to fit through a doorway. For complex furniture assembly, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly. We recommend customers disassemble large furniture items before our arrival when possible.

May and June are invoiced together shortly after pickup. July and August are billed together at the start of July. You will receive an email with your invoice before your card is charged.
